Dreams Come True

12. 24 Week Belly Pic

Holy crap, my belly has really started to pop out. It's crazy, she's starting to get so big! She moves around all the time, except for when people other than myself or Andrew try to feel her kick. Then she's just as stubborn as Mommy and holds out on people. LOL. Monkey.

Had my latest prenatal appointment on Tuesday. Morgandy is right about where she should be. She's just the right size for 23-24 weeks and her heartbeat was in the 150s, which is good. My blood pressure was a bit high. It was 138/74 when I first got there and 120/68 right before I left. Still well within healthy ranges, but my blood pressure usually averages 90-100/50s. I also weighed in at 153 pounds, which is crazy for me. But, everyone says I don't look it, so it must be all baby & baby making stuff (unless they're lying to me lol).

My next appointment is May 12th, the Tuesday before my baby shower. At that appointment, they're also going to schedule my gestational diabetes test, which should be... exciting.

The only crappy thing about this week has been that I'm having problems with my Medicaid. I applied for PCAP back in December, which is the Medicaid program for pregnant women. I would have coverage for all my prenatal and postpartum care, and Morgandy would have coverage from birth until 1 year. But, my social worker messed something up, and apparently Morgandy is covered right now but I am not. I found out on Wednesday when I went to the surgical supply store to pick up my maternity support brace that my doctor prescribed for me, and my Medicaid came back inactive when they tried to run it through. Ugh.

That was the other thing I forgot from my appointment. The bigger she gets, the more strain my belly puts on my back, which hasn't fully healed from my injury last year. I have a really hard time at work with moving, bending and standing for long periods of time, and also at home simply from sitting or laying in one position for 15 or more minutes. So, we're going to try this support brace (if I can ever get it), otherwise the next step is muscle relaxants, and I'd really prefer not to be on those while I'm carrying my child. So, that's fun.

Aside from that, not much has been going on. My baby shower is on May 17th, so I'm knee deep in preparations for that. I'm also trying to sell my wedding dress, but I think I'm getting scammed on that, so I don't know how far that's gonna go. Oi.

Then there's the fact that we're also in the process of buying a HOUSE... We found one that we like, and should hopefully know by Friday if we are approved for a mortgage large enough to buy it. I'm excited!

Can the preggo just get a break? lol.
